Chest pain without physical explanation

In the majority being admitted with chest pain you will not find a bodily explanation!
That does not mean there is not a physical explanation, but one can with great certainty say that there is a dangerous cause problems after the report that you've been through.

Still troublesome

Chest pain with no known cause can be troublesome, even if there is a serious reason behind it.
It is not unusual that some people find that the pain comes back
Therefore, it can be very important how you relate to these problems.

What to do

There are techniques and tools that you can learn to deal with pain in the most appropriate manner
These techniques can cause pain becomes less troublesome and less often back
This program aims to explain these techniques

This information will now you may have already received during hospitalization, but it can still be useful with a repetition:

How the heart works

The body needs oxygen and energy to work. In addition, the waste products are removed. Oxygen and energy is carried around via the blood to the entire body and on the way back transported waste to the kidneys, liver and lungs. In these organs break down waste products and excreted via urine or vented via the breath.

The heart pumps blood around the body via two circuits. One circuit goes to the lungs where oxygen-poor blood is filled with oxygen. The second circuit goes to the rest of the body with oxygen-rich blood. Oxygen is being given to the cells and the blood brings oxygen-poor blood back to the lungs.

Circulatory system

The Heart

The heart pumps blood with a frequency that varies as one is at rest or in activity. If the body is in need for more energy and oxygen, as during physical activity, pumps faster and harder. There are electrical signals that stimulate the heart to pump and these signals are influenced by the nervous system.

The heart is a muscle requiring blood supply in the same way as the rest of the body. The veins you see outside the heart supplies the heart with blood.

Heart Attack

If the blood vessels that supply the heart becomes clogged gets a heart attack, what happens is that the part of the heart that loses blood supply stops working and eventually become permanently damaged. If the blood vessels begin to become clogged gets angina.

The most common symptoms of heart attack:
Pain or feeling of pressure in central chest. Usually intense pain that lasts over 15-20 min. Alternatively, radiation to the left arm, shoulder, neck or jaw. Any breathing difficulty.

The most common symptoms of angina:
Pain or feeling of pressure in central chest. Goods from 5-15 min. Fires often the effort because it requires heart more blood, and narrow vessels will lead to less opportunity for adequate blood supply during exercise.

Examination

When being admitted with chest pain are all examined with clinical examination, ECG, blood tests, bike test and echocardiography. Based on clinical history and examination will be additional research done to rule out other serious bodily explanations for chest pain.

ECG: measuring electric power in the heart, if part of the heart is damaged the electrical impulses in the heart be changed, which can be identified by ECG.

Blood tests: Injured hjertemusklatur release proteins in the blood that can be measured.

Bike Test: Man committed heart by riding hard while taking ECG to detect narrow blood vessels.

Echocardiography: Man takes ultrasound of the heart to see if it works normally.

When these studies are done and can not find anything wrong will with very high degree of certainty say that the heart is functioning normally.

Your heart can withstand physical activity!

You've now been through a lot of research that shows that your heart can withstand physical activity.

Physical activity is beneficial for including preventing heart disease in the long run!
Therefore it is very important that every day trying to do physical activity that causes the heart to beat faster.

Do not let discomfort stop you!

This program will include various tasks, most have focused on physical activity. The reason for this is that physical activity itself may be effective to reduce chest pain of unknown origin.

The first task is in the next picture.

The first task

You've been through a stress test where you have pushed yourself to the maximum pulse under surveillance to check if you have narrow blood vessels in the heart. Normal physical activity will be "easy" compared to what you've been through and harmless. To emphasize this, we suggest that you make a new physical activity before leaving the department.

Stand up on the floor rather than a box on the floor
Walk up and down this 30 times until you feel your heart rate increases slightly

Home Exercise - Moderate physical activity!

Physical activity has numerous beneficial effects for everyone.

The first task is to choose a physical activity that you do daily for the next three days:

Duration - 30 min
Moderate degrees of intensity - this means that you committed until you feel the heart beat, and gets a little sweaty and tired

Choose an activity that suits you based on your fitness level and what you enjoy doing. If you think this task is too easy, you can do the exercise with higher intensity.

Walking on flat terrain

Walk where there are also some short hills

Cycling in flat terrain

Cycling in hilly terrain

Climb stairs at home

Running outside or on the treadmill in flat terrain

Jogging out in hilly terrain or with intervals of incline of the treadmill
